Bognor Regis Regeneration Board Welcomes Arun District Councils Call for Regeneration Proposals

The Bognor Regis Regeneration Board has welcomed Arun District Council’s decision, taken at the Full Council meeting of 16th September 2020, to invite the submission of regeneration proposals for the key town centre sites in Bognor Regis – Regis Centre and Hothamton. The invitation is extended to any forthcoming, or previous stakeholder, be it a developer, architect, development partner, the Council or community group to make a presentation to the Council with a deadline of 13th November 2020.

The Board’s Chairman, Raof Daud, commented: “This is a positive move from Arun District Council. The Board would strongly encourage the Council to take bold and decisive action by setting out a clear process and timeframe for receiving proposals, its aspirations and the basis for evaluation and assessment. Those presenting must have a clear understanding of how ADC, as landowner of strategic sites within Bognor Regis town centre, will decide on a preferred option  and how that will be supported and facilitated by the Council, through appropriate land agreements and planning, to final delivery.”

Bognor Regis is well-placed to benefit from the potential of further injection of investment and jobs during a time when town centres throughout the country are being severely challenged by the effects of Covid-19.
